Topic: Funding of Minnesota Courts
On behalf of the family court bench for the 4th district, please accept my sincere appreciation for all that the members of the HCBA and the AAML have done to support the judiciary during this legislative session. As you may have heard, this morning the Governor signed the omnibus public safety bill. The funding reduction to the trial courts is 0.79. This is a noteworthy change from projections at the beginning of session, when reductions in the 10-15% range were proposed. Many people deserve thanks, and surely more messages will be forthcoming, but the efforts of the family bar deserve immediate acknowledgment. Thank you.
