Welcome to
MnFamilylaw-blog.com!
In the fast moving area of Minnesota Family Law, we at Walling, Berg & Debele often find ourselves in the middle of personal and family dramas that can have wide-ranging effects on people's lives. Decisions made by judges, lawyers, social workers, parents, kids, law enforcement, etc. often create ripples that carry far beyond the narrowness of the immediate problem. On this blog we will be talking about the human dramas we see, the people in the trenches who are working to resolve problems and better the lives of families and children, and the legal issues and procedures that impact this work. Some comments may be touching, some tragic, some humorous, and some we hope will be educational. Our goal in the coming weeks and months is to inform, educate, and begin conversations. We hope you will join us on our journey. For more information about our firm and its lawyers, please visit our Web site at http://www.wbdlaw.com/.

International child abduction is a frightening thought, especially if you are married to a foreign national. The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction will assist if the child is taken to a member country. However, prevention is always the best remedy. Is Your Parenting Plan Missing Something?

Attached is a link to a list, prepared by the experts, of the ten things to consider when developing a parenting plan. A parenting plan is more than just an outline of the care schedule. Like a well negotiated contract, a good parenting plan addresses all the likely issues that may arise during the children's future development. For example, can a step-parent discipline the child or can the child participate in certain activities.
WBDLaw has developed a parenting plan that covers many if not all the potential problems that might arise. Contact us for help with your parenting plan. ~Nancy Zalusky Berg
